Basketball at CCC

My Freshman year at Cayuga Community College I was a starter for the girls basketball team. Our team was pretty descent. We had a girl on our team who was from NYC and she was a sophomore this year and was part of the Mid-State conference All Conference team. She was a leading scored in one season. So we had pretty good potential to make it far. We started our season off pretty good, we won most of the first half of our season games. I myself was really shinning much here and there had a few points, I was mostly a defensive player at this point. I had 99 points going into the second half of the season. When the grades came out we found out are star player and caption did not make the grade. So she had to take winter session classes to get her grades up............but she didn't do it........so now going into conference play we have a mostly freshman team that has no idea what to do with no caption.......So we went into this conference season with our heads a little down not knowing what the outcomes of any of our games were going to be..........
Well we only one 2 games that year in our conference........WOW!!! But i had pretty good second half of the year.... I ended up filling the shoes of our caption and a ended up having a career high for me in one season of 314 points. I was also named to the Mid State All Conference First team.....
I was so psyched for my sophomore season to start.... we had 8 returning players.........But once again.........we fell short..........we didn't make it to any conference play or even the regionals...........I did well again scoring about 420 points and I lead our team in steals and points and offensive rebounds............Even though my two years at CCC were not the best as a team I did well in a career stand point for me, and it was a good ending to my career of playing basketball on a competitive team.

Basketball experience

When I was a senior in high school there was high expectations for our basketball team. We had eight seniors and all five starters were seniors. Two of us were named to the all tournament team for the sectional finals one being myself. There was two other girls that were named to the first team all-league the year before. We had great potential to win sectionals..... But the only team really standing in our was was a private all girls school, named Nazareth. They had beat us the following year in the finals for sectionals. So going into our season they were going to be the team to beat. We ended up winning leagues for the third year in a row going undefeated in our division. We ended losing three games during the regular season, two of them actually being to Nazareth and one other one being to Mercy another all girls private school. We went into sectionals with a first round bye, then we played Mynderse our division rivals, who we blew out of the water. Then we played a team who happened to have one of the best girls in section V basketball on it. We had planned our whole "attack" plan on her. We ended up holding her to single digits and ended up winning the game..... Which was sending us to the sectional finals against Nazareth AGAIN!!!!! It was like revenge for us..... they were the defending champs for the past four years..... They had beat us two times this season already.... killing us by like ten points each time..... so this game was going to be one of the most intense games we have ever played.......The first half we were winning by like six points at half time. They we stunned.... they were talking smack in the locker rooms at half time saying that we sucked and that they were just playing horrible and everything...... well we ended up winning by like twelve points and breaking there winning streak. We thought that things couldn't get any better. We ended up going to the far west regional games where we played the section VI winners... they were out of buffalo. No one thought we would make it this far, but we ended up beat this team too, and we were moving on to the state tournament. We ended up winning our first round in the tournament, which then put us in the finals to win the state title.... But we ended up losing to John Glenn which was a school out of NYC.......which had at least three girls going to huge D-I schools. So our season ended but in our little home town everyone was still so proud and they even had a parade for us when came home.....So that was my experience my senior year of basketball that i will never forget.
