Skiing is one of my new sports that i like to do. I actually just learned how to ski this past year. My boyfriend, Best friend and her boyfriend all took me skiing towards the last day of the season last year. It was actually a very warm day out so it was kinda of icy and the snow was not very good to start to learn. But I actually didn't do half bad. When i was a freshmen in high school i actually learned how to water ski, so it made it a little easier for me to learn. It has the same concepts as down hill snow skiing. Yet it hurts a lot more to fall on icy snow then on water. I am very excited for it to snow this yea. I am actually looking at getting a job at a ski resort this winter up near my home town.....well I don't like the cold weather but i do love the snow.... I think that is the only thing that i don't like about snow is that it is cold which makes me cold. I think it is very pretty when the snow falls and sticks to the trees.
racing
You would never believe that one of my favorite things to watch is racing. I like watch races on TV, but the best way to watch them is live. I like dirt racing the best. I cant wait for the summers to come, because that is when dirt season starts. I used to go to Canandaigua Speed way every Saturday night. We would usually get there early so we could cook out. They best part of racing is how fast they go. Dirt racing is so much better than Nascar because there is a lot more action going on. Even though i don't like to see people get hurt, i still like the wrecks. Recently a guy that i went to school with, who happens to race small block engines (Sportsman division) was burned very badly in an accident while he was racing. Yet last weekend i went to Rolling Wheels and watched him do very well. If that had been me I wouldn't have been able to get back into a car after that had happened to me. My next dream is to go to a Nascar race in NC. I also enjoy watching drag races too. Last weekend I also went to the drag strip up in Cicero, Ny. I love watching cars go fast. There you get to see many different things race, and alot of them are soooo fast.

At the end of my Freshman year basketball season I started noticing that i was having a lot of pain on the back of my heel, where my Achilles is. I really did not think anything of it, just thought that it was another pain and strain from playing basketball six days a week for two and a half hours a day. But come to find out it wasn't. At the beginning of my Sophomore year I started having more and more pain everyday playing basketball......It got to the point that I couldn't wear my shoe anymore without having pain. I would be at the trainers every single day getting treatment for my Achilles. They would have to wrap it in special padding every practice and every game. I would have to ice it before and after every activity i did just to keep the swelling down so that i could walk the next day. I played my whole sophomore year like this. Everyday having to take Advil and inflammatory pain medication just so i could keep playing. After basketball was over, i went to my podiatrists to see what she could do about it and what it was. From all the strain and pulling on my Achilles i developed what was called a bone spur. It is when your Achilles is being pulled away from the bone and extra bone grows where it is being pulled away. So in essence i had this huge extra bone growing out of my foot which was causing it to swell and give me pain. She said that she would go in and cut my Achilles and then scrap off the extra bone and then reattach my Achilles. I would then be in a cast for a month then a walking boat and physical therapy then onto walking regular again, it would take at least 6 months for me to walk normal again. When i told my mom this she was stunned. I was convinced that i had to have this surgery. But my mom thought that i needed another doctors opinion. So we went to an orthopedic surgeon that we have known through years, he said that he could do the surgery without having to cut my Achilles, or anything like that and i would be on crutches then in a walking boot and be heeled in about 6 weeks. He as a doctor could not believe that she would actually try and cut the Achilles, he thought that was crazy and knew that if she did it wrong i might not be able to walk again. So i scheduled my surgery with Dr. Mark. When i finally had the surgery, it was about 6 weeks till i would walk regularly and with out much pain. He had went in a chiseled off my extra bone. Still to this day i have pain every morning and have to ice it after all my activities. I probably would not be able to be back on another basketball team and be up to my full potential anymore due to this surgery and the pain it has caused.

snow....
I guess i would have to say that for the most part............i hate snow.....i don't know if i necessarily hate snow.... but i hate being cold. And snow means that its cold out. But there are a lot of things you can do in the snow. You can go sledding, make a snow man, go skiing/ snowboarding. You can even go ice skating or play ice hockey. Ice hockey is a very fun sport to watch. I usually go to at least ten hockey games a year. Any where between youth hockey to professional hockey. Hockey is just a fun sport to watch, the way that it moves so fast and you never know whats going to happen. There is even girls leagues. Which is awesome because they don't have alot of girls sports that are physical like they do boys sports.
I also like to go skiing. I actually just learned how to ski this past year. I knew how to water ski, but not down hill skiing. skiing is a very invigorating sport to do. Even if your not doing it competitively, it is still fun to do and watch. It also, like hockey is a good way to exercise during the winter. It works well for your legs and endurance and cardio.

gymnastics
In our gymnastics class today we had to do many interesting things. Some to me were kind of difficult and some were kind of easy. We had to do these things to measure how our skills were and what we had to improve. We had to do a warm up activity first, which we had to pick pieces of paper and do what they said on them and we had to see who could do the most of these things in two min. After that we had to get a partner, Mike was my partner. The first thing we had to do what a hand stand with our partner. Our partner had to hold our legs this first time, we repeated this three or four times. Then once we accomplished this we had to do one on our own, with our partner still there, but they were to just keep us from falling over. We did continue this for a couple more times. Then we went into our skills portion of the day. The first thing we had to do was a forward roll. You had to obtain a 4 out of 4 to not have to do it again. I received a three on this, which meant I was in the Utilization category, a step down from expert. Next we had to do a backward roll. You would think this would be easy, but its not. I got a two out of four. Next we had to do a cartwheel. I did very well on this i got a four out of four. My partner Mike on the other hand only got a two. They next thing we had to do was walk on the uneven bars with our arms straight out, backwards and forwards. I only obtained a two on this because i have really weak shoulders so it was hard for me to do this. Then we had to do the rings. We had to be straight up and down and then into a sort of "V" type thing. I got a three on this. The other thing we had to do was climb a rope with no knots, and once again i have bad shoulders and am not very strong in my upper body so i couldn't even get up, and also we had socks on which also hindered me getting up. The final thing we had to do was walk forward and backward on the balance beam. I did this well and got a four out of four. This is what we did all class and we are learning how to teach kids to do these things as well.

ipod phone
On september 5, Apple just announced that they are coming out with the ipod touch..... But didnt they just come out with the iphone???? they new iphone is very expensive and many people do not want to spend there money on a phone that is going to be out dated in as little as a few months.....The phone was costing people over $500 to activate and buy.......But as of the other day apple had a $200 price drop for this phone........this phone had 4gb hard drive in it..........but the new ipod touch is 8GB and is only $299..............why buy the iphone when you can get this one for less money.....The new iPod Touch may have more storage, but it doesn't have a phone. This means you still have to carry two devices: a phone and the iPod Touch. I don't know about you, but I'm not one to carry an iPod everywhere I go. The i touch had no camera, no blue tooth capability............The iPod Touch is just an iPhone without a phone. And why didn't they add new colors, FM radio, an expansion slot, or a microphone to give it VoIP capabilities? Even the Sony Mylo and Zune have some of these features. Why make it look and act like a PDA, yet leave out important things like a microphone??????

The Lake
Do you ever have one place that you love to go to and wish that you could always be there...........That one place for me is the lake........I could be at the lake twenty four seven.........You can do so many things at the lake.... and its not like the ocean where you have to deal with sharks, jelly fish, sting rays.... so on and so forth.......If you are in the ocean to long you can get dehydrated. But the lake on the other hand you do not really have to worry about anything biting you or becoming to dehydrated.... the only thing you really have to worry about is sea weed or maybe a seagull pooping on your head..........
I go out on Seneca Lake, it is the largest and deepest lake out of all the finger lakes. It usually gets warm about mid june.... but we all start going out on the lake around memorial day. It is always freeeeeeeeeezing. But we dont care. We have a place at the north end of the lake that we call boaters beach where we all go. That is usually where we all meet and tie are boats together and ended up partying.......we drink some beers, play football and frisbee and just hang out..... We also like to go tubing and water skiing..... we always have so much fun out there...........It sucks when we have to go back to school cause that means it is getting cold and we have to leave that lake until next summer..........
